This is a speculative concept for what the user experience of a petsitter robot may look like from the pet owner’s perspective.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, there has been an unprecedented increase in the purchase and adoption of pets (ASPCA, n.d.). However, the fact is that people often cannot stay with their dogs forever. Unless it is a service dog, other pet dogs must stay at home alone once their owners need to return to work (Samford Pet Restore, 2017.). When dogs are very destructive or aggressive when left alone, it may be because they need further training and coaching from their owners, but it can also be a symptom of dogs being very distressed. In that case, they are likely suffering from separation anxiety (ASPCA, n.d.).

Design Solution
Health Tracking Function
Providing users with data on their dogs' daily activities- the dog's daily activity data is tracked and recorded, activity charts and diaries are generated automatically. Basic functions include online vet consultation and nearby vet clinic. Any data that the user finds abnormal can be saved and downloaded.
Feeding Function
In the feeding function, the product will calculates the daily energy requirement based on the dog's daily activity and calorie consumption and feeds them automatically, while the user can also choose to switch to manual feeding.

The interaction between human and their pets is the essential for pets' mental health. Interact Function & Social and Share Function can not prevent pets from mental issues, but also help people to find community and share their lovely moments.

Nearby Dog Function
Dogs need to "socialise" more than humans. Nearby Dog function allows users to search for other dog owners within 3km nearby. Through chat, users can meet to walk their dogs together, or take care of each other's dogs. This function not only meets the social needs of users, but also allows their dogs to meet their new friends.
Online Vet Function
Talk with a qualified vet from the comfort of users' own home on Pawpat through Online Vet function. The vet can assess the Pawpat camera to watch the dog's situation, and will help the user solve pet's problem and the advice provided to share in time with the local vet. Users can also make an appointment directly through Online Vet function. Pawpat will provide users with a nearby veterinary clinics.
Basic Function
See, talk and toss treats to your dog from anywhere. Besides, Pawpat's basic functions can detect the dog's physical condition and send out smart alarms, record dog-related highlight moments in a day. Moreover, on the pet camera page, users can customise the remote interaction with the dog, such as chase , treat, etc.
How to prevent pets from mental issues is still a problem for pet owners. Especially when the pandemic is about to end, most people need to return to work. Through this project, I not only equipped with knowledge of interface design but also the overall design process. I performed several rounds of iterations and eventually generated the final design.
All the prototypes were generated by using Figma.
